its been almosy a year and i just got pissed off thinking about the end of homestuck

@ andrew hussie: you cant fix loose plot threads by giving us a little more character resolution !!

@hypeswap the frog is supposed to be the same frog which fell into the forge on lofaf at the end of act five, which explains why it came OUT of the forge during act seven. at least i think that’s where the frog came from but i could be wrong

no, THIS frog.

This is easily solved as a basic game mechanic: Jade sleptwalk to find that frog, which means some force in the game–Skaia itself, judging by the art there, because Jade is being drawn into position by a particularly bright vision in the clouds–influenced her to go and pick up the frog.

The sendification itself is entirely within Echidna’s abilities, as a monster with incomprehensible eldritch space powers. Jade’s memory of the event is then locked until she makes her Choice. I’m pretty sure that’s the clear implication to be drawn by the imagery here.

disagree about echidna being able to sendificate it.

we know jake had access to technology that let him send and receive letters from jade, so the logical conclusion here is that a young jake or his grandma sent the frog, but that still only explains half of its origin. (ie, was grandma english specifically TRYING to breed this frog?)

the fact that its eyes specifically flash the beta kids’ colors also seems significant, but i have no idea how unless the shiny frog has some sort of connection to the house juju

Just an fyi, I edited my response to include some additional info.

I’m curious on what grounds you disagree about Echidna’s ability to sendificate. Since I can imagine a Maid of Space expanding the boundaries of a universe or a Prince of space diminishing them, I don’t think inter-universal powers are out of the question for all space players, and the Denizens are sort of by nature implied to represent All The Powers of their Aspect–we know Typheus uses Breath, for example, and the Denizens are by design limitless uberbeings.

Personally, it doesn’t seem to me like Jake or Grandma have real logical reason to send the frog–at least, not one that outweighs the simple game mechanics Sburb employs to make itself work.
