I’ve heard this a couple of times and I think it’s currently the likeliest explanation, to be honest! Ancient philosophy didn’t account for our magnetic sciences, I guess
For the + and – for passive and active classes, the signs might be the way they are because electricity flows from negative poles to positive poles, so the positive sign accepts energy and the negative sign generates energy?
