When I played deltarune, I got some really interesting homestuck vibes from it…so, partially, as a joke, I asked myself, what would happen if I retold The Legend from the perspective of Homestuck…and it..uhh…worked pretty well.

The combination chess/card suit aesthetic is something Homestuck originally drew from Alice in Wonderland, and that’s really the literary motif Deltarune seems to be evoking. It’s an overlap Deltarune and Homestuck both have, not necessarily a reference to Homestuck.
Not that that means Homestuck aint an influence because it is in tons of other ways. But I think this one risks confusing people wrt whats actually a pretty important thematic motif of the Dark World’s, so I thought I’d mention.
That said Deltarune/Undertale’s worlds are absolutely set up like the scratch.
George Buzinkai passed away yesterday. Buzinkai was a member of the Homestuck Music Team, and scored several animations with songs like Explore
Showtime
Endless Climb
And, most importantly, Doctor, the most popular and remixed track in Homestuck, and the unofficial theme of the series
Buzinkai was one of the most important people to Homestuck’s success, right up there with Toby Fox and Hussie himself. He had been working on a video game
