Awwwwww yeah, the party has begun B)

So you said previously that you believe (with evidence) that Alternian society pushes trolls to be more akin to their “true aspect”. Would this maybe be a reason why Lime bloods were destroyed from the system, because they were forced to be linked to the Blood aspect, meaning that they were better at bringing peace and unity?

maybe. another way to look at it is that the genocide forces all remaining limebloods to think about their Blood quite intensely, above and beyond other trolls–not unlike Karkat

Just gonna take a minute to tell you how awesome you are. like, i dont want to call the hs fandom dead because its really not, but its so great to see someone still heavily involved in it. You give so many people a completely new take on homestuck itself and though i read homestuck in 2016, i feel like I’m back in the golden age lmao. Not to mention you seem like a really funny, chill person on discord and tumblr :).

im too gay and anxious for this kind of praise but aaaa helping people rediscover homestuck and bringing back what i remember as the golden age is literally my dream so thanks a lot, this is rad to hear ;w;

So my fiancé has recently started reading Homestuck and decided to take the troll test to see what aspect/moon he got and was given Mind/Derse. Naturally he followed up with wanting a class so I introduced him to your meta (since I used that to figure out my own) and he’s gone for Rogue of Mind. It’s been fun working it out so thank you for putting the time into all this (and since I’m a Prospit Page of Heart, thanks for confirming that we’d be the ultimate Sburb power couple I guess? xD)

d’awww, that’s cute :3 happy to hear it, thanks!!

Doesn’t have to be a long response but what Classpect do you think the player character for Hiveswap Friendsim is? I think they’d be a Heir of Heart. They use friendship/allow it to effect the Trolls they meet, which might set a chain reaction to allow them to become their true selves. I wonder how they fit into the revolution and LE?

i have no idea at the moment, but there seems to be a bit of an arc developing for the MSPA Player atm so…maybe we’ll find out?

Okay so i finally started playing hiveswap (i know W a y too late) and since all the trolls in the friendsim have two aspects, one connected to their bloodcaste and one Real one, do you think it’s more likely that Joey is actually a light player who is influenced by Nana Egbert or a life player who is influenced by A. Claire (since she made all the star paintings?) it’s a bit vague since the flashlight is her old weapon (not current) and her love for animals makes her unhappy because of Pa

She’s definitely influenced by A. Claire (she outright says she wants to be just like her tons of times, after all), but hilariously enough that doesn’t actually help me figure out whether she’s getting Life or Light influence from her at the moment, for Reasons.

The EZ says that Heart players are adept at putting on masks as the situation calls for them, but doesn’t this trait reflect a manipulation of the outer self (Mind), as opposed to the inner self (Heart)? Furthermore, it says that a Mind player’s identity is fluid, more concerned with objectivity than consistency. Shouldn’t a Mind player be better at donning temporary masks, where a Heart player would have a more sincerely experienced alter ego/hidden self? (Huge fan of your work, by the way.)

You nailed it at the end, I think!:

Shouldn’t a Mind player be better at donning temporary masks, where a
Heart player would have a more sincerely experienced alter ego/hidden
self?

This confused me for a long time, but I’d say that Heart players’ masks are more like legitimately distinct alternate personalities; personas, if you will. They’re able to compartmentalize different parts of themselves very well–as Dirk puts it, Striders only party “when it’s good and time to party”, so his work and fun personas are very distinct.

Mind players think a lot less about Who They’re Being and a lot more about what they’re thinking. They’re deducers and analysts. If we look to the Persona series for Heart, we might want to look at games like Phoenix Wright or 999 for Mind; affairs where a lot of the drama and tension comes from scrutinizing the logic of a sequence of events, or logic and reasons behind the stated motivations of characters.

Hopefully that makes any sense?

(Thanks a ton, by the way.)

callmearcturus replied to your post “How would a god tiered blood player be useful in combat or just what…”

wait why do we say the Red Miles are a Blood power? are we saying DD is Blood?

I wouldn’t say DD is Blood.

I’d say the Ring is. Blood is about relationships, collectives, social cohesion and the sacrifices individuals make in order to enable it–a group united under a common banner/ideal/way of living. The queen’s ring is a centralized symbol for the power of her rule over the people of Derse/Prospit.

Contrast it’s power against Breath, to boot. The Red Miles are fearsome because of their inescapability…

And Breath allows John to escape anything. One is a power of bondage, the other of freedom.

Also Jacks initial red miles attack literally spawns out of the blood on his arm, if you look closely. So there’s that.
