Steven Universe’s music is expansive, diverse, and integral to its storytelling. With sweeping atmospheric background tracks, recognisable character motifs and showstopping vocals, music is a crucial part of many of the series’ most memorable moments.
Needless to say, the show has inspired a wealth of fan music across the internet, from YouTube to SoundCloud, all produced in a stunning range of styles and subjects.
Following in a tradition with roots in the fan communities of such media as Homestuck and Undertale, Songs from the Planet Earth is a community album that seeks to celebrate and showcase the breathtaking range of musical and artistic creativity that Steven Universe inspires in its fans.

What’s a community/fan album?
To those who aren’t familiar, a fan album is essentially a zine for music: a compilation of musical and artistic fanwork celebrating the media that inspired it.
As with most online zines, they are 100% not-for-profit releases, with all organisers and contributors producing work on a voluntary basis and the album being made available to the public for streaming and download.
Traditionally, too, every musical track on the album is accompanied by its own personalised illustration, created by a volunteer artist on the project.
All contributors will be fully credited on the album and in the tie-in booklet with links to their social media profiles!
Last December, the FCC voted to to kill net neutrality. If we do not take action, this will kill the free and open internet as we know it. The internet needs you—all of you—to make sure your voices are heard NOW.
We need all hands on deck for this one. It may be our last chance. If you’re feeling under-informed and overwhelmed about why net neutrality is so incredibly important, we have this handy guide just for you.
Here’s what you can do to save the internet:
In mid-May, the Senate will vote on a resolution to overrule the FCC using the Congressional Review Act (CRA). We only need one more vote in the Senate to win.Write or call your Senators or Representatives. You can also text BATTLE to 384-387 to get more information on how to write to your reps. You can do this, Tumblr.
Join us and dozens of your other favorite companies like Etsy, Vimeo, Reddit, and GitHub to raise awareness with the Red Alert campaign being run by Battle for the Net. Just add this small widget to your Tumblr to let your followers know how they can contact their reps. It’s as easy as copying and pasting the small line of code right into the customize theme page on the web.
This is important. This matters. It’s up to you to help.
see the readmore for audio of rose and blue’s themes matching up
also of note: rose is about the same height as pink. jasper is a little taller than stevonnie, and so is pink. jasper and rose are obviously about the same size.
yes, rose could technically be from wherever all the bubbled roses are from, but. that doesn’t explain why she’d lie and say she’s from earth. she’s constructed this fictional past deliberately.
I’d consider this basically confirmed if we ever “see” Rose shatter Pink with her sword. We know that’s impossible, so both parties have agreed to *act this out*.
(obviously, i’m staying away from the exact ‘how’ here, which we just don’t know yet. that’s not a flaw in my eyes, just something i’m leaving open cause idk. i’m trying to analyze what we DO know)
see readmore for a more detailed description of the diamonds in accordance to the four temperaments. the crystal gems are based on the four stages of emotional development, btw, according to Rebecca.
see readmore for link to picture of crew member in that official shirt, where rose’s gem is portrayed as a typical diamond shape / like pink’s gem on it’s side.
I would say so. All three life players are linked to them–the Fuschias kinda obviously, Jane wears one on her shirt.
And the horrorterrors are as defined by the fact that they’re alive as they are by their unknowableness. That’s part of the horror of eldritch abominations! Something the mortal mind can’t comprehend, made all the more terrifying by the fact that its living and breathing and trying to–or failing to give a shit about– comprehending you.
I said previous post that the ‘Single Pale Rose’ board was “an adventure for me.” This is a euphemism for saying that it was important to me and I stressed about it. When that happens, I usually step away from the computer and do a lot more thinking on paper. Paper, especially scrap paper and post-its, is less ‘precious’ than the computer file that I turn in and makes me feel less self conscious about trying stuff out.
I have a lot of paper scraps from this episode.
Note: The final episode version of Pink’s reveal was drawn by Rebecca! 🙂
Thank you for sharing, and for the incredible art all of you make. In my opinion, that was a fantastic and moving development in one of the most important stories being told today.
