This is a love letter to one of my favorite games, and definitely the one with the biggest impact on me. With this channel nearing 10,000 subs, I wanted to do something I’ve wanted to do since before I started the channel: Adapt this old, personal piece about Earthbound into video form.

I wanted to express my personal experience of the game and why it matters to me, both as a way of letting you guys get to know me a bit better, and because a lot of what Homestuck is in my eyes is informed by this spirit in Earthbound, too. That’s what led me to Homestuck in the first place, after all.

I mean that’s definitely a risk and y’know, not saying it’d be healthy or anything, but I am pointing out Elwurd would be into it? And I’m not sure how Lynera would respond to Elwurd being into it, which makes it interesting from a character perspective.

Like, the friendsim makes clear that a lot of whats up with Lynera is loneliness and feeling unlikable and so latching on to Bronya because she’s what’s familiar. So how would Lynera respond to exposing the worst of herself to someone-she’s still self-aware enough to know that what she’s doing is messed up, after all-and being met with not just approval but like, romantic interest?

I can see that throwing Lynera for a loop, is all I’m saying. It’s certainly not an ideal romance or anything, but this is Alternia–there’s no such thing. I can see it leading to character growth for both of them, at least. Kinda hope it gets explored in act 2, tbh!

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put into words just how much this show means to me, but I will say this-
