Of all things, the only criticism I have is that feferi->sollux was arguably a romantically loaded corpsesmooch as well. More of a sleeping beauty vibe than a princess bride one there, much less dramatic, but not unromantic

The fef/sollux corpsesmooch was romantically loaded, but it was foreshadowing of a potentially romantic relationship, not confirming an already established one.

The distinction Dirk and Jake’s corpsesmooch draws is that by the point of the kiss both characters had already clearly stated they had feelings for one another, and those feelings had been building up between them for at least three years.

It’s presented as analogous to the Rosemary kiss BECAUSE it has all of this pre-established romance behind it, whereas Feferi and Sollux’s kiss, while romantic, is build up to the reveal of their eventual relationship. See what I mean?
