anyway i woke up feeling very sick and also very emotional about jade and joey? like obviously the parallels between them w beta jake being absent from both their lives run strong but joey’s insight into grandpa’s actual disposition, as a little bitch absentee father who cant commit to the people who want to love him, makes jades childhood soo much sadder. she spent her whole life missing him and not knowing that even if he was there things still wouldve been awful! double loneliness
love that joey’s narrative as a girl who actually talks about her parental neglect (a first for homestuck lol) who is mature/kind beyond her years wrt the people around her (in her case jude, and xefros, and even beta roxy) aligns soo well w jade’s own narrative and supplements her RIDICULOUSLY sparse story
I think theres been a good number of references to it being a snake so far, which vibes with all his Seer of Doom/LE focused imagery. Haven’t dug too deep there to be honest!

i think my little sister would find a lot to connect her w/ joey but she is not really connected to gaming/nerd culture much and shes never played PC games, so I think a lets play would be the easiest way for her to see it.
