uhhh i LITERALLY dont remember how i first came across utena. I remember reading its whole tv tropes page, gathering that it was p gay, and deciding to watch it. then it took over my life during the homestuck gigapauses and now im here.
i like it for basically the exact same reasons i like homestuck and view them as different versions of the same core story p much: stories about escaping from the cruelty and misery imposed by an inherently flawed systemic structure, designed by a demiurgic patriarch. queer coming of age stories included included in the combo meal. v good

i wrote this to have a really 90s sitcom vibe. you know, one of those melodies that don’t really make any sense. you ever notice how vocal songs only have like 3 or 4 notes in the melody. anyway i also had to write lyrics. have you you ever tried to write a sitcom theme that incorporates harspichord? yikes. i love it when theme songs to sitcoms just outline the premise of the show so… i guess i don’t have a great excuse i was just extremely drunk. its literally the chords to the theme song to “Family Matters” you know the show with Steve Urkel who is played by jaleel white who also voiced sonic the hedgehog.
anyway the lyrics that i definitely wrote at 6 this morning are:
