Hey. Okay this question is a bit stupid but are you waiting for Dirk and Jake to get married in the homestuck 2019 calendar? Because I’m praying. Please delete this is there’s too much cringe.

2) plz, im waiting for viz and hussie to announce a full on homestuck anime and to see them get married there.

im kinda joking but also not even, really? 

i dont talk about it much but a homestuck anime is one of the few things weird and unexpected enough i can imagine when i wonder what hussie meant when he said he wanted to do something “unexpected” and “outside the confines of the comic” with VIZ media.

i’ve said it before: homestuck’s story is not over. i think its pretty likely the epilogue at least will contain major elements of dirkjake and vrisrezi–probably dirkjake, definitely vrisrezi–and i am not convinced we’ll never see these characters again past that.

i don’t like to speculate this “wildly” about homestuck’s events, i just also don’t consider the somewhat cynical view that the adventure is well and truly “over” to be fact. seems to me its all speculation.

I just wanted to take the time to say that I very much admire the insight and essays you offer to the Homestuck fandom! it’s incredibly refreshing and enlightening to read about things from such a distinct and detailed viewpoint such as yours. I haven’t been too active in this fandom for a little while now, but since discovering your blog I feel as though I’m learning so much more about things. thank you so much for your amazing intellectual contributions!

Thank you, that means a lot. My contributions are mostly only the sum of all the awesome people that have influenced me and talked to me and expanded my ideas of what homestuck is about, so don’t praise me too much. What I produce is ultimately the byproduct of the community effort of the entire Homestuck fandom, in my view. 

Also, I’ve made some fascinating breakthroughs today. The stuff I’m going to write about soon has me extremely excited–fandom readings of Homestuck are going to come into a whole new extreme.

Also, just a mention? I’ve got like over 1000 followers now. If 1000 people decided to throw me a buck on patreon, I could immediately work on content full time at way higher quality than what I currently am capable of. I’m not like begging or whatever but if you like what I do then I want people to know there’s a lot more of it than I have any hope of being able to put out quickly enough to my satisfaction at my current rate, so. Spreading me around so more people know about what I’m up to would really help me out. And not to be smug but I think it’ll lead to a healthier overall fandom, too. 

People who liked the Gamzee post I just put out and my post on Dammek are in for an unprecedented ride soon. I hope I’ve built up enough credibility in this audience’s eyes that my being bold enough to say so will have you guys excited and hopeful for it, instead of just making me come off like an arrogant tool. Anyway, I’m really excited, personally.

Have you ever written an essay about vriska and (vriska) or are you planning to because your theories sound Amazing and id Love to read more about it!!!

I’ve touched on the differences between them a TEENY bit in my Class series, particularly (obviously) during the section on the Steal classes. I talk about Vriska a bit in the Create/Destroy essays, too, since her roleplaying a Sylph (and sucking HARD at it) is a huge part of her early arc. 

But I haven’t written about Vriska and (Vriska) SPECIFICALLY, mostly because there’s no way for me to do it right now without delving into speculation at the end since, ya know, the story isn’t over. And doing so would tip my hand as this huge vrisrezi shipper also and I just don’t want to get people super worked up for the potential way I think the comic WILL go in case i turn out to be wrong, you know?

But I’m starting to think it’s worth making a short post on like, the symbolism and stuff surrounding the two. It’s really fucking transparent honestly so I dont think it’d take me a mammoth amount of text. Hopefully coming soon??? ™

rose probably wasnt made with kanaya in mind, but kanaya was almost certainly made for rose, and roses development was intertwined with kanayas creation. motherhood, sun and moon, death and birth, creation and destruction, darkness and light, love and loneliness: they are all built into them. to speak of one is to speak of the other. They exist without each other, but to understand them fully you have to understand their influence on one another

vriska and terezi i have no doubts were formed as a unit. everything they do revolves around each other, so much so that they are lost when the other is not there. (vriska) is aimless and unsure without terezi, and (terezi) is depressed and sad and regretful without vriska. terezi abandons a new universe, a kingdom and all her friends, to find the most important person she has ever known. (terezi) rewrites history to bring her back, to give herself and her love the chance to be together again, even stating that she wouldve rather been doomed and made the right choice than made the wrong one and live without her. balance in the form of scales is directly a part of both of their imagery (most especially terezi), the lines between good and evil are blurred with them and they are unsure, but wherever they stand they know they must stand together or there is nothing, no them
